Apple MacBook Pro 15 2019 Review

Apple MacBook Pro 15 2019 Review

Ever since Apple introduced its new Butterfly Keyboard in MacBooks everyone’s faith in this laptop line up has been pretty shaky and to be honest the 2019 MacBook Pro is nowhere near restoring that faith. The 2019 MacBook Pro has almost the same design, screen, and the keyboard as the last generation’s MacBook Pro also there is still that thing called “the touch bar” which is almost as useless as the i9 processor in the 2018 MacBook Pro. The 15 Inches MacBook Pro is Available in many variantsbut it either comes with an i7 processor or comes with an i9 Processor. Well? Did Apple do it right this time? Let’s find out in our full review for the 2019 MacBook Pro.

Design and Features

It has been 4 generations since the MacBook pro changed their design aesthetics in 2016, the 4th is the 2019 MacBook Pro. The 2019 MacBook Pro’s design is almost the same as last year’s MacBook and is available in two colors: silver and space grey. The back of the lid houses the same Apple logo that doesn’t light up, other than that the back is clean. Talking about the deck, the deck houses the 4th? 5th? Generation butterfly keyboard, the touch bar, speaker grills, and the trackpad. The keyboard this year has a few improvements just a little bit although anything can’t be said about the keyboard at this point of time. The keystrokes feel really shallow and frankly speaking, the keyboard of the MacBook Pro isn’t something, you’d want to recommend to anyone. The Trackpad is located at the bottom center of the deck and the trackpad of the MacBook Pro is actually quite good. You can get great discount on electronic devices online using Croma Coupon Code.

The trackpad is one of the biggest trackpads that you’ll find on any laptop. Since there is no windows the trackpad obviously doesn’t run on windows precision drivers but still, it feels really smooth and responsive. The touch bar is still not that useful as you’d expect it to be and it still doesn’t have much new features either. The touch bar comes with touch ID for additional security purposes and last but not the least on the deck are the speakers. The speakers are situated on either side of the keyboard and they sound fantastic.

If we talk about the screen, the screen is again one of the best things about the MacBook Pro. The screen is 15.6 inches true tone retina display panel with a resolution of about 2880 x 1800 pixels and a massive 500 nit’s brightness. With such brightness, the screen gets really bright and it is kind of really sharp as well and Unlike other laptops which either have a screen with 16:9 aspect ratio or 3:2 aspect ratio, the MacBook Pro still packs a screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The bezels aren’t as much as thin as they could have been but that is forgivable the webcam is 720p facetime HD webcam placed at the center of the top bezel.

Performance and Specifications

No matter what MacBook Pro configuration you choose there are only two options available for the processor. You can either buy your MacBook with a 2.6 GHz 6 core Intel Core i7 processor or with a 2.3 GHz 8-core Intel Core i9 processor. Other than the processor and the screen most of the things in the 15 inches MacBook Pro can be changed. You can choose up to 32 GB of RAM and up to a massive 4 TB of SSD storage for your MacBook. You also get to choose between touch bar and no touch bar and that is simply just great. There are also some options available for the GPU but mostly the GPU widely available for the MacBook is either the AMD Radeon Pro 555X or a Radeon Pro 560X both of these GPU’s come with 4GB of DDR5 memory. The base variant of the MacBook Pro that comes with an i7 processor, 16 GB of RAM, 256GB of storage and 4GB of 555X graphics costs about $2,399 while if you change the processor to an i9, upgrade the storage to 512GB and choose a 560X GPU it will cost you about $400 more and you can apply for software developer jobs to know about IT field.

The performance on the MacBook Pro is just okay. There are again some thermal throttling issues with this MacBook if you use it for a long time, the core i9 performance has improved from the last generation’s MacBook Pro but it still has its limitations due to the same chassis design of the MacBook Pro.

Verdict

The 2019 MacBook Pro has just slightly improved over the last year’s model but still most of the problems that the last year’s MacBook Pro had remain the same. If you’re looking for a laptop with good keyboard and better performance we suggest you look for a windows device but if you can survive with the keyboard, the thermal throttling and are in a dire need of MacOS you can purchase the MacBook Pro but to be fairly honest at this point in 2019 there are many options available which are better than the MacBook Pro and cheaper as well.
